Visit the ancient Garni Temple — the country’s only standing Greco-Roman structure — and the UNESCO-listed Geghard Monastery, carved into the rock and steeped in legend. Continue to Lake Sevan, one of the world’s largest alpine lakes, and climb to Sevanavank Monastery for breathtaking views. End the day in the resort town of Tsaghkadzor, where you’ll take a cable car ride for sweeping views of the valley. Return to Yerevan for an evening at leisure.
